Daimler and Benz Foundation offers scholarship programme for young postdoctoral scientists. The program is in accordance with the Foundation’s statutes, open to all disciplines and subjects. Approximately 10 per year scholarships for a period of two years are awarded to carry out own research project at a German university or research institution. The annual grant amounts to € 20,000 per scholarship. Application should be submitted till 15 October 2013. DBF Scholarship

Eligibility: The program is in accordance with the Foundation’s statutes, open to all disciplines and subjects. Requirement for an application is the institutional affiliation of the candidate to a German university or research institution and carry out their own research project. Scholarship Description: Since 1 January 2012, the Daimler and Benz Foundation offers a new scholarship program aimed at young post-doctoral scientists. Especially important in this phase research services are provided. To support the way in which science will postdocs and assistant professors in the early phase of their scientific work as well as young researchers in a similar position, such as independent director of junior research groups, promoted. Number of award(s): The Foundation plans to award approximately 10 per year scholarships, the exact number of scholarships may vary depending on the funds available.  DBF Scholarship

Duration of award(s): The scholarship is designed for a period of two years, the Foundation expects the end of the first year an interim report.  DBF Scholarship

What does it cover? The annual grant amounts to € 20,000 per scholarship. Since the Daimler and Benz Foundation aims to strengthen outstanding young scientists in their research autonomy, the scholarship is optional the use of financial resources. They can be used for the financing of computers or technical equipment, research assistants, research or travel to attend meetings on individual needs. The scholarship, however, cannot be used for printing costs, consumables or to cover personal living expenses.
